Low pressure area is marked over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining region.  Earlier, this 2nd low pressure area of July had formed over Bay of Bengal(BoB) on 22ndJuly and moved across Odisha, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. The peripheral of this system lashed parts of Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat over the last 3-4 days.

Either side of the Ghats around Konkan region were lashed with heavy to very heavy rains resulting landslides in Raigad and Ratnagiri. Extremely heavy downpour over districts of Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur submerged roads and bridges snapping connectivity.

Inclement weather conditions claimed 167 lives in Maharashtra and huge loss of property and over 3000 cattle. Though, the rains have eased out over this area, but the water bodies keep responding even later and therefore the flood waters are still awaited to recede. At least, no heavy rains are expected to hamper the relief operations over the next 2-3days.

Remnant of this low pressure area is now marked over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and is supported by a cyclonic circulation up to mid tropospheric levels. Over the next 24hr, this weather system will move to  Uttar Pradesh and the heavy rainfall belt will also shift accordingly.

Initially parts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana covering Sheopur, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Datia, Alwar, Dholpur, Dausa, Jaipur, Rohtak, Rewari, Palwal, Mewat and adjoining parts will be lashed with heavy rain and thundershowers. Later parts of West and Central Uttar Pradesh  including Agra, Mathura, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Muradabad, Aligarh, Etah, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Hardoi, Sitapur and also extending to Kanpur, Allahabad and Lucknow, will get fairly wide spread intense rainfall.

Weak low pressure over Uttar Pradesh will finally break up along the foothills and carry the monsoon trough along with, a little north of its normal position. While this diffused system is parked along the foothills, a fresh low pressure is likely to come up over North BoB and Bangladesh on 27th-28thJuly. Together the duo will extend the rainfall activity along the Indo Gangetic plains for rest of the week and may even spill over to the next week. Heavy rainfall is expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, North Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh during this period.
