Mumbai rains have remained absent for quite some time. Rain in Mumbai does take a backseat after the departure of Southwest Monsoon and starting January, rains completely vanish away until the onset of Monsoon again.

Weather in Mumbai at present is hot with humidity levels being on the higher side. Temperatures are settling around 35 degrees Celsius, with hot and sultry weather. Cloudy sky conditions are seeing usually during the morning hours, thereafter, sunshine takes over and humidity starts to seep in.

Moreover, the evenings are pleasant with sea breeze providing the relief factor to the residents of Mumbai.

In fact, other parts of Maharashtra including Vidarbha are reeling under heat wave conditions with some parts seeing temperatures around 48 degrees or so.

Talking about Monsoon rains, the city of Mumbai sees the onset around June 10 before which Pre-Monsoon rains begin to make appearances around the end of May or so.

However, this year has been quite different with the Mumbai until now remaining dry. Moreover, no rains are expected for the next one week at least. Pre Monsoon in Mumbai has been deficient and is likely to remain so.

Southwest Monsoon will have a delayed onset over Kerala and conditions reveal that Monsoon may not make in time over Mumbai as well. Thus, Mumbai Monsoon is only expected to make an onset in the third week of June, and not before that.

Thus, Mumbaikars will have to wait a little longer for some rains and even longer for the onset of Monsoon in Mumbai. Until then, hot and sultry weather in Mumbai will be the dominant factors.
