Monsoon in Delhi bids adieu, ends with normal rains

Delhi and the NCR region have seen a decent Monsoon performance all in all this season. As per statistics, the national capital has recorded normal rains this season. The southwest monsoon bid adieu to Delhi yesterday, the date coincided with the last day of the departure of Southwest Monsoon from the country.

Monsoon left behind a rainfall deficit for the month of September. However, Delhi observed rainfall for the entire monsoon season. Moreover, Safdarjung observatory recorded 660.8 mm rains against the normal rains of 640.4 mm between June 1 until September 30th.

Safdarjung saw a deficiency in rainfall during the months of August and September, while June and July observed surplus rainfall. On the other hand, both August and September were deficient

For Delhi as a whole, there was 542.2 mm against the normal of 544.3 mm. Now, as the Monsoon has withdrawn, we expect weather conditions to be dry and no rains are in sight. Also, now, in the next few days, a nip in the air will be seen in the early morning and late evening hours. However, days will remain warm.
