Monsoon gives good showers over East and Northeast India

For the last couple of days, good rains were witnessed over most of the East India. But even with the good rainfall, most regions in East India continue to be rain deficient. Bihar is witnessing a rainfall deficient of 4%, while Jharkhand’s rainfall figure is just marginally above normal.

At present a trough can be seen extending from Gangetic plains to North Arunachal Pradesh. Due to this system, light scattered rain is expected. Few areas of Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal may even receive one or two moderate rain spells.

Light rain is likely in few parts over Bihar and scattered parts of East Uttar Pradesh. But latest modals show that the rainfall will reduce gradually in most of these areas after 24 hours.

For the Northeast India is concerned, the cyclonic circulation can be still seen over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura (NMMT). This system can be seen in the lower level.

The NMMT region will continue to receive light rainfall with isolated areas receiving moderate rainfall for next 24 hours.

The chances of decrease in rainfall are possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya. Even the temperatures will see a significant rise over these areas; uneasy hot days will prevail over the region.
