This reduction in the rains would be due to the formation of a low-pressure area over North Bay of Bengal. This would in-turn concentrate the moisture and winds towards North Bay of Bengal, giving good rains over West Bengal and Odisha.
In addition to this, the offshore trough, running from South Maharashtra to Kerala may also become active which would pull the moisture, increasing rains over Maharashtra and reducing it over Telangana.
