After a break of a few days, Monsoon rains once again revived over the state of Gujarat on the last day. With this, few stations of the state, mainly Gujarat region recorded some good rains. Meanwhile, rains over Saurashtra and Kutch region remained on the lower side with only some isolated rains in pockets.
Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Surat recorded moderate Monsoon rains to the tune of 31 mm, followed by Mahuva 19 mm, Idar 11 mm, Valsad 10 mm, Surendranagar 10 mm, Ahmedabad 2 mm, Bhavnagar 0.6 mm, Deesa 0.3 mm and Kandla recorded 0.1 m of light spells.
As per Skymet Weather, at present, a cyclonic circulation is seen persisting over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat. This system was responsible for rains over the above-mentioned districts. As of now, we expect on and off rains to continue over many parts of North Gujarat for another 24 hours. Thus, the stations like Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Kandla, Amreli, and Surat may get to witness some on and off rains.

Thereafter, this cyclonic circulation is expected to move away leading to dry and warm weather conditions over the westernmost state. Moreover, Skymet Weather does not expect Monsoon revival over the state for at least another 4-5 days.
Due to the reduction of rains, the rainfall deficiency over Saurashtra and Kutch which is at present 93%, would continue to persist. However, the rainfall deficiency of Gujarat region which stands at 33% as on June 28, might witness a marginal improvement, although, overall weather conditions of the state would remain grim.
