Monsoon has been fiddling with Southern states of India but not too widely. At present, coastal Andhra Pradesh is rainfall deficient by 7%, and Rayalaseema is rainfall surplus by 6%.
Low pressure area in Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast has given good enough rains over the entire Andhra Pradesh coast. In the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers were recorded in the coastal areas of the state.
And this weather system is continuously giving heavy to very heavy rainfall over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Many areas over coastal Andhra Pradesh like Machilipatnam received 59 mm of rains in the last 21 hours. Bapatla 27 mm, Vijayawada 64 mm and Ongole recorded 20 mm.
Already scattered rain has commenced in the interior parts over Andhra Pradesh, and fairly widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over the state. And as this low pressure area moves inlands coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as interior parts of the state will receive good Monsoon rains in next 24 to 48 hours.
