Monsoon 2016 seems to have developed a special liking towards the central parts of India. During last 24 hours, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha have received good rainfall. At present, Vidarbha is rainfall excess by 38% whereas East Madhya Pradesh excess by 49%. But the real beneficiary of amazing Monsoon rain in Central India is the region of West Madhya Pradesh which is rain surplus by 55%.

This excess rainfall can be attributed to numerous weather systems like Low-Pressure and Depression forming over the region in the month of July. These systems have given heavy to very heavy rain over Central India.

But there were times when these rains have created havoc in the region. The excessive rain downpour in the region has led to floods in Madhya Pradesh in the last week.

In past few days, rainfall was subdued over Madhya Pradesh and especially West Madhya Pradesh was not getting enough rain. Whereas East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha has been receiving moderate to heavy rains due to a cyclonic circulation which is now over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas.

This weather system is expected to move in a northwest direction towards Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. So, we can expect moderate to heavy rain at many places and very heavy at one or two places over Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh in the next 24-48 hours.

West Madhya Pradesh that has been facing dry weather for few days will also start getting good rain in next 24 hours. During the next 3-4 days most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha will get good showers which will further increase the rainfall figures.
