East and western regions of Uttar Pradesh have been observing good rainfall during last 24 hours. Rain deficiency of East Uttar Pradesh was 4 percent on July 4 which now stands at a surplus of 20 percent on July 6. On the other hand, West Uttar Pradesh which was surplus by 5 percent on July 4 is now sitting on a surplus of 22 percent.

A well-marked low pressure area which is over northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas will continue to give good rainfall over south and central parts of Uttar Pradesh for next 24 hours. Thereafter, rain intensity is most likely to increase over entire west and central Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall observed during last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday is displayed in the table below:

Most parts of the state will also witness continuous on and off rains till July 10. These good showers may continue for another 3 to 4 days and may also increase the rain surplus over entire Uttar Pradesh. Henceforth, there will be a deduction in rain intensity. However, extreme eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh will still continue to get scattered showers even after July 11.

Post this date, temperature of West Uttar Pradesh will once again increase and warm and humid weather conditions may make a comeback. However, good rains are likely to continue for another 3 to 4 days. These rains are especially beneficial for the soil moisture and water level of the area and would be fruitful for farmers sowing kharif crops.
