Monsoon rains in Delhi continue, night becomes pleasant

Updated on July 3, 2016 10:45 PM: Southwest Monsoon finally made an onset over Delhi yesterday and Delhiites couldn't have asked for more. While the national capital received a few spells of rains during the afternoon hours. However, the weather did become sunny for some time as well.

While Delhiites may have thought that the rain saga is over for now, rain gods decided to treat the residents with some more Monsoon showers during the night hours.

Presently, many parts of Delhi including Moti Bagh, Chandni Chowk, RK Puram, Connaught Place and many parts of the NCR have been receiving rain. These rains are expected to continue giving way to pleasant weather conditions at least during the night hours.

During the next 24 to 48 hours, patchy on and off rains will continue over Delhi and the NCR region. The possibility of one or two good spells also cannot be ruled out.

Published on July 3, 2016 06:00 PM: Monsoon has arrived over Delhi but heavy rains are eluded for the time being. On and off showers are recorded over Delhi. Surprisingly places near the National Capital Region like Rajasthan, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh has received very good rainfall but last 24 hours Delhi and Palam observatory has not recorded any significant rains.

Many parts of the city did observe some rainfall activity. Today also till 02:30 pm, Palam observatory recorded 8 mm of rain elsewhere in the city hardly recorded any rain. Now patchy rain will continue in different parts for the next 2-3 days.

The Monsoon rain will be missing from the city. Chances of few good spell during early morning or late night cannot be ruled out. This scattered rain activity will continue till July 7. Thereafter there may be a gap of 2-3 days when isolated light rain may occur.

But rain intensity of rain will again pick up pace from July 11. Temperatures around this time will be in the lower 30°C. But the weather will be very humid and extremely humid. Typical monsoon rains will not be witnessed for at least 4-5 days in Delhi and NCR.
