So far in July, it has received more than 2200 mm of rainfall. We can say that three digit rains have become a normal affair for Mount Abu. In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Mount Abu has recorded 145 mm of rain.

Many other districts of South Rajasthan have been receiving heavy to extremely rain which has led to one of the worst floods in history. As per Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the persistence of a Low-Pressure area over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat. Now the Low-Pressure area has weakened and lies as a Cyclonic Circulation over East Rajasthan.

We expect moderate to heavy rains will continue over South and Southeast Rajasthan till July 28 that include places such as Udaipur, Kota, Sirohi, Chittorgarh and Ajmer. Thereafter, intensity will start reducing from July 29 over South and East Rajasthan.

However, Central parts of Rajasthan places like Jaipur and Ajmer may receive scattered showers. Weather of Northwest Rajasthan which includes Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar, and Hanumangarh will remain almost dry however but isolated light rains cannot be ruled out. In the next couple of days, it is expected that the flood situations will improve as the intensity may reduce slightly.

Rajasthan has been receiving splashing rains since Southwest Monsoon covered the entire state. It has rained so much that at present West Rajasthan is largely rain excess by 103 percent and East Rajasthan is rain surplus by 29 percent.
