Southwest Monsoon has finally arrived over many parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Latur, Parbhani, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Solapur. Monsoon has also marked its arrival over entire Konkan and Goa, most parts of Madhya Maharashtra and some parts of Maharashtra.
During the last few days, heavy to extremely heavy rains occurred over coastal areas of Maharashtra. Other parts received scattered rains but Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra also received some rains.

The last 24 hours were no different and many parts of Maharashtra including the interior parts witnessed good rains.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Harnai recorded a whopping 143 mm of rain, Colaba in Mumbai witnessed 94 mm of rainfall while Santa Cruz recorded 71 mm rain. Other areas also witnessed good rains including Dahanu 66 mm, Sholapur 61 mm, Bir 61 mm, Nashik 39 mm, Wardha 29 mm, Yeotmal 26 mm, and Udgir 36 mm.

Now, as the Monsoon has made an onset over the aforementioned areas, good rains will continue over coastal Maharashtra as well as northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra for another 24-48 hours. Thereafter, rains will reduce over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai as well as interior parts of Maharashtra.
