Although monsoon has already reached Chennai, but we do not expect rains to increase over Chennai.
Light rain and thundershower activities may occur in the coming days, but heavy rains are ruled out for at least next one week over Chennai.
There may be scattered showers over the city and suburbs during the next three days.
Most parts of Tamil Nadu fall in rain shadow area therefore, during Southwest Monsoon, rain intensity remains less in comparison to other states.
Major amount of rain in experienced by Chennai during Northeast Monsoon which occurs during September and October.
Though interior districts of the states will receive scattered light to moderate rains, but monsoon will remain subdued over Chennai.
Talking about the temperatures, yesterday Chennai recorded its maximum temperature at 38.0˚C and maximum temperature at 27.1˚C. thus, we can say that both day and night temperatures are settling near normal. Further also we do not expect much change in the temperatures over Chennai.
