Monsoon 2021: Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, South, and Northeast India will to receive widespread Monsoon rains

The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is passing through Barmer, Bhilwara, Dholpur, Aligarh, Meerut, Ambala, and Amritsar and it will cover West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, remaining parts of Rajasthan, and Delhi from 10 to 12 July. In East India, wet easterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal have started blowing. It is likely to spread over Northwest India covering Punjab and North Haryana by 10th July.

A low-pressure area is very likely to form over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts around July 11. Under the influence of these conditions, widespread rainfall is likely over Northwest India from July 9. On July 11 and 12, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Punjab. Rain is likely over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh during July 9-12 and over Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi during July 10-12.

During the next 5 days, widespread rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over Central India, which includes Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Moderate rains are expected over West Madhya Pradesh from 10th to 11th July and East Madhya Pradesh from 9th to 10th July 2021.

With the strengthening of Southwest Monsoon over the Arabian Sea and a low-pressure area expected to form over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal around July 11, rain activity over the west and east coasts will increase. The increase in rain activity is likely to continue for the next 5 days. During July 9-12, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Maharashtra and Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala.

The intensity and distribution of rainfall are very likely to decrease over Northeast India including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. It can harm people and animals living outside.
