Mumbai rains did pick up page during the fag end of the month of June. So much so that during the last few days of the month the city received around 300 mm of rain.

However, after receiving good rains during the first two days, the rainfall intensity in Mumbai witnessed a significant decrease. The heavy monsoon showers were replaced by light to moderate monsoon rains on just a few occasions.
The last 24 hours were also disappointing as far as monsoon showers are concerned. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the Santa Cruz observatory in Mumbai recorded a mere 1 mm of rain. The rainfall activity over Colaba was no different wherein 2 mm rain was recorded during the same time frame.

The reason for the reduction in the rains is attributed to the on and off shore trough along the West Coast becoming feeble over the region.
As per weatherman at Skymet Weather, Mumbai is expected to receive light to moderates showers only during the next 24 hours. The possibility of intense sharp showers over the city remains bleak.
Thus, Mumbaikars will have to satisfy themselves with these light to moderate rain activities only for at least some time.
