According to Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the prevailing cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat and the off-shore trough running along the West Coast from this system till Kerala.

Further, the circulation is likely to move towards west but the trough will continue to persist. As a result, moderate to heavy rains are likely to continue over Mumbai for the next 2-3 days.

So far, the maximum city has recorded 363.5 mm of rains as compared to monthly average of 523.1 mm. However, with three days in hand for the month to end and heavy showers in offing, we are hoping that Mumbai will most likely not fail to achieve its target.
