Heavy Monsoon rains continued to lash Bengaluru for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday. All thanks to active Monsoon conditions over the region. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, the state capital has recorded 57 mm of rain.
In fact, the IT city has received 184 mm of rains in the first four days of the month itself. And, with couple of heavy showers more, Bengaluru will surpass its monthly average rainfall of 212 mm.
According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions will remain conducive for moderate rains with one or two heavy showers for the next 24 to 48 hours. These ongoing rains can be attributed to the trough that has been running from Rayalaseema to South Tamil Nadu across South Interior Karnataka.

Maximum temperatures have been settling below normal average by 2-3 notches. On Sunday, day maximums settled at 27.3°C, two degrees below normal. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures will be settling near normal on account of high humidity levels.
According to Mahesh Palawat, Chief Meteorologist, Skymet Weather, “Though on and off light rains were recorded over Bengaluru during August but any heavy showers had remained absent. Now with the Monsoon picking pace over the region, heavy showers have made a comeback over the city.”
