After being dry for about two to three days, light Bengaluru rains made a comeback again yesterday. With cloudy sky conditions, light rain also made an appearance over Bengaluru and its adjoining areas.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Bengaluru city witnessed traces of rainfall. On the other hand, the airport recorded about 0.1 mm of rainfall. These weather conditions can be attributed to the strong Monsoon surge over Kerala region.

The westerlies from the Arabian Sea have been feeding moisture over the Kerala region. Due to this, moisture incursion has also increased over South Interior Karnataka and adjoining areas. Thus, rains have once again decided to visit Bengaluru.

Now, Monsoon 2017 is all set to make an appearance over the garden city very soon. During the next 3 to 4 days, Southwest Monsoon will make an onset over Bengaluru. Thus, the prevailing Pre-Monsoon showers will be converted into Monsoon showers.
Rainfall intensity over Bengaluru is also expected to increase during the next 24 hours. The prevailing westerlies and the strong Monsoon surge will be responsible for pushing Monsoon further and the residents of Bengaluru will be able to enjoy Monsoon showers by this weekend.
