Good rains are continuing over Vidarbha since last few days and at present Vidarbha is rainfall surplus by 40%. Vidarbha is the rainiest place in Maharashtra followed by Marathwada with 28%, Konkan & Goa is at 18%, Madhya Maharashtra is the least with 12% above normal rainfall.
Now we expect moderate rains at a few places with light showers at many places will continue for 2-3 days. Thereafter the intensity and the span of rain will decrease as the rain belt is expected to move towards Madhya Pradesh.
Many areas of Madhya Pradesh will continue with good rains however occasional light rain will continue over Vidarbha.
Till now during entire monsoon we have seen that weather of Vidarbha has not gone completely dry for a long period of time. Occasional heavy rain and thundershower is going on and heavy to very heavy rain has also been observed over the region.
And as per Long Range Monsoon prediction, Vidarbha region will end this Monsoon season with excess rainfall.
In the last 24 hours Nagpur has received 41 mm of rainfall, Gondia 21 mm, Akola 33 mm, Washim 21 mm, Buldana 16 mm, Yavatmal 9 mm, Wardha 5 mm and Chandrapur received 3 mm of rainfall.
All the districts and tehsils have received moderate to heavy rains in the last 24 hours.
