Monsoon has been showing good and promising figures over entire India. As on July 21, the state of Goa is rainfall surplus by 16%. During month of June, Goa has received heavy to very heavy rainfall but in the month of July, subdued rainfall continued over Goa in the first half of month.
Rain intensity did pick up pace from July 16 onwards. But this pace was in generally on and off with moderate to heavy rain witnessed by Goa.
This good spell of heavy rain will continue for another 48 hours. Thereafter, the active Monsoon surge over Konkan & Goa will weaken and the rain intensity will reduce. However, on & off patchy rain will continue over the region.
Being on the Western Ghats of the country, the continuous fall of rain hardly ever stops over Goa during Monsoon season.
Whenever Monsoon rains get heavy to very heavy, rainfall occurs over the region like it has been pouring since last few days. And the rain intensity weakens as the Monsoon surge weakens. But the completely dry period seldom occurs over the state.
