Mumbai rains have taken a backseat for quite some time now. So much so that if you happen to live in Mumbai, you may have completely forgotten as to how those typical Mumbai rains during Monsoon look like.
Rain gods have been into hiding for a long time. The maximum city has been receiving very light rain for quite some time now. In fact, good rains have practically remained absent from the commercial capital of India.
These weather conditions could be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system over the region. Moreover, the off shore trough along the West Coast which was giving good rains over the region had also become insignificant.
However, things are about to take a fortunate turn during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rains are expected to make a comeback for about two to three days. In fact, a few areas may receive isolated heavy rainy spells as well. However, these rains may not be widespread in nature.
The off shore trough is back over the West Coast and is running in close proximity with Mumbai. Thus, good rains are expected over the maximum city.
