Since last many days there has been a significant absentee of any major weather system over Bay of Bengal. The last cyclonic circulation that emerged over West-central Bay of Bengal reached Madhya Pradesh and did intensify into a depression.
This weather system gave heavy to extremely heavy rains over many parts of the state and the adjacent Vidarbha. This incessant rainfall led to a flood like situation.
Now at present a trough is extending along the East Coast from Odisha coast to Andhra Pradesh coast. Very soon a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over Andhra Pradesh coast. The approximate time of this weather system to form is around July 20-21.
Due to this weather system we expect moderate rains to lash again over Andhra Pradesh coast, South Odisha and parts and Telangana and Chhattisgarh. As this weather system is expected to form near coast therefore chances of its intensification are less. We have to wait and see if this weather system induces into a low-pressure area or not.
If a low-pressure area is formed then the intensity of rain over coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and parts of Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha will be much more.
