The absence of rain even after the onset of Monsoon has troubled the people of Delhi for quite some time now. Delhi already saw a delay with the onset of Monsoon. But after a good spell of rain that lashed the capital of the country and its surrounding areas has brought much needed relief from the hot and humid weather conditions.
Yesterday’s good spell showed varied rainfall figures in different observatories of Delhi. Palam observatory recorded 17.2 mm of rainfall whereas Safadarjung recorded only 1.4 mm of rain.
It is predicted that more rains for the Delhi and national capital region are on the cards in the coming days. As for today, patchy and light rain will continue to please the people of Delhi in various parts. Chances of heavy spells are there later in the night today or early morning tomorrow.
The humidity levels will be on the higher side today. For the month of July Safdarjung observatory has recorded 88 mm of rain in comparison to Palam observatory which is stuck at 41 mm of rainfall. Good rains are there for the Delhi and neighbourhood for next couple of days. Around July 13-14, heavy rains for the region can be foresighted.
A low pressure area which is marked over North Madhya Pradesh is expected to move in northerly direction as it weakens. This system is expected to give good showers in the coming weekend.
