Moderate to light spells likely over hills of North India

During last 24 hours, the northern hills of India particularly Jammu & Kashmir has received few good showers. While Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have witnessed light rains only. The reason for these showers can be attributed to a Western Disturbance that persists over Northern Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir.

These rains are displayed in the table given below:

As per Skymet Weather, light rains are further likely to continue over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand however, plains are expected to receive comparatively more rains than the hills.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are most likely to witness light to moderate showers with a few isolated heavy thundershowers at a few pockets. On the contrary, rains over West Jammu & Kashmir is expected to reduce while East Jammu & Kashmir is expected to witness better showers.

However, all the three hilly regions of northern India are likely to witness light to moderate rains for another 48 hours.
