Monsoon rains are once again all set to lash the hilly states of northern hills. For the last few days, the rains have remained on the back seat and only light showers were recorded at few places.

According to Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rains would now once again start over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In fact, Uttarakhand is likely to see some extremely heavy showers as well.

As per weathermen, the low pressure area over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas has now become less marked and is now seen as a cyclonic circulation over the same region. Till now, the system had kept the Monsoon trough south of its normal position. However, with system getting weak, the western arm of Monsoon trough would once again move northwards towards the foothills of Himalayas.

Not only this, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. This system is likely to enhance the rains further.

With this, rains would also start lashing parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand after the next 24 hours. Coming weekend would see some heavy showers across both the states.

However, we would not expect any changes in the ongoing weather over Jammu and Kashmir, which is likely to expect some light rains showers only.
