September 22, 2018 10:41 AM | Skymet Weather Team

As predicted by Skymet Weather, after eastern parts of the country, rains are now all set to lash northwestern areas.

The tropical storm Daye had weakened into a deep depression soon after making landfall. The Depression now lies over Southwest Madhya Pradesh & neighborhood. It is likely to move northwestwards and weaken into a well mark low pressure area during next 24 hours.

Simultaneously, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Both the systems would then interact with each other through north-south trough from Western Himalayas to West Madhya Pradesh across northwestern plains.

Under the influence of the system, the winds pattern has already changed from dry north-westerlies to humid southeasterly over the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR.

With this, Monsoon rains and thundershowers will commence over all these areas. As per weathermen, intensity of rains is likely to increase, wherein we can expect moderate rains at many places, with heavy rains at some places. Isolated very heavy rains cannot be ruled out.
