The Northeastern region of the country has been observing moderate to heavy rainfall for the past few days. Usually, during this period Northeast India receives good amount of rainfall.

The last 24 hours have also not been very different for the region with the state of seven sisters. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Cherrapunji recorded 223 mm of rainfall, Pasighat 73 mm, Rangia 62 mm, North Lakhimpur 25 mm, Goalpara 35 mm, Dibrugarh 31 mm, and Golaghat 13 mm.

The weather conditions that are prevailing over Northeast India can be attributed to not one but two weather features. One of them is the axis of monsoon trough which is running through the state of Assam. The other one is a cyclonic circulation which is also present over Assam.

Thus, during the next 24 hours Assam and Meghalaya will observe heavy rainfall activity in view of these weather features. Not only this light to moderate rainfall will also occur over Nagaland Manipur Mizoram and Tripura.

Due to this both day and night temperature will remain on the lower side. Weather conditions will remain present for the entire Northeast India.
