Monsoon rains have once again returned toUttar Pradesh, with few places even recording heavy rains on Saturday as well. Meerut saw 83 mm of rains in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday.  The state is now again ready to witness another spell of good Monsoon rains.

According to Skymet Weather, intense clouding could already be seen over many part of the state, with rain likely to follow soon. In fact, few places have already started recording rains and thundershowers.

Places likeAgra,Aligarh, Badaun, Bareilly, Bijnor, Bulandshaher, Etah, Firozabad, Hapur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Kanshiram Nagar, Mahamaya Nagar,Mathura,Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur and Sambhal are likely to see moderate to heavy rains during the next few hours. Few areas might see some intense very heavy rains as well.

These rains can be attributed to the series ofMonsoon systems affecting Uttar Pradesh. To begin with, a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir, with induced cyclonic circulation marked over North Haryana. Another cyclonic circulation is marked over Northeast Madhya Pradesh, which is infusing humid winds from Bay of Bengal over the state. Besides this, the axis of Monsoon trough has also started oscillating towards north and would be soon running close to Uttar Pradesh soon.

As the system over Madhya Pradesh would move west-northwestwards, the rain belt would also shift and cover more parts of Uttar Pradesh by tomorrow.

We have entered in the withdrawal month of Monsoon, but Uttar Pradesh is still battling rainfall deficiency. As on August 31, East Uttar Pradesh is witnessing below normal rains by 14%. Meanwhile, West Uttar Pradesh is deficient by a big margin to the tune of 27%.

We hope that these rains might bring some improvement in the existence rainfall deficiency, although complete wipe out is not likely.
