After registering some on and off showers for past few days, Mumbai rains are all set to pick up pace now. According to Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation over Madhya Maharashtra would be gradually moving in westerly direction towards Konkan & Goa.
With this, weather conditions have now become conducive for moderate to heavy rains over Mumbai and nearby areas today. Thereafter, intensity of rains will reduce marginally by tomorrow but we expect moderate showers to continue with some isolated heavy spells in some areas.

As per weathermen, the situation will not be as grave as earlier but short spells of heavy showers may pose some difficulties. Water logging and traffic jams cannot be ruled out during this period.

In wake of this, weather during the days will remain comfortable but evenings and mornings will be pleasant and windy.
Mumbai has been recording light to moderate rain and thundershowers for the last 2-3 days. In span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, the city has recorded 13 mm of rain. However, first week of October witnessed absolutely dry weather conditions.
So far in the month, the city has recorded 29.5 mm of rain against the monthly average rainfall of 55.8 mm. Post the Southwest Monsoon season, the state capital of Mumbai does not record much rainfall during October.
