Maharashtra has been witnessing active Southwest Monsoon conditions for quite a long time now. Hence, several cities of Maharashtra have been recording a good amount of rains. So, the state has been experiencing comfortable and pleasant weather conditions. Also, the active offshore trough is bringing in good rains for the coastal areas of the state.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Malegaon recorded 44 mm of rainfall, Mumbai 32.2 mm, Alibag 16 mm, Mahabaleshwar 13 mm, Ratnagiri 8 mm, Satara 6.8 mm, Nashik 4.2 mm, Aurangabad 3 mm, Vengurla 2.4 mm and Dahanu 2 mm.

The reason for these good Monsoon rains over Maharashtra can be attributed to an upper air cyclonic circulation which is seen persisting over South Madhya Pradesh and parts of Vidarbha region. Also, an active offshore trough is seen extending from Konkan Coast up to Kerala Coast.

Whereas a few parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada regions will continue to settle with light rains. Further, moderate Monsoon showers are likely to continue over coastal parts of Maharashtra.
