The entire state of Maharashtra has been experiencing dry weather for the last many days now. The mornings are cool and hazy followed by warm days with comfortable conditions in the Vidarbha region of the state.
According to the meteorologists at Skymet, an upper air Trough is extending from East Central parts of the Arabian Sea up to East Rajasthan across Konkan Coast. The system is likely to persist for another two to three days. Under its influence, moist winds are affecting the Konkan region, Madhya Maharashtra, parts of Marathwada and West Vidarbha.
In the wake of these winds, light rain and thundershowers are likely over these meteorological divisions during the next 24 to 48 hours. Isolated moderate spells are likely in North Maharashtra such as Pune, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, and Mahabaleshwar. Meanwhile, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Mumbai, Satara, Dahanu, Jalgaon, Jalna and Akola may see scattered light showers.
On the other hand, East Vidarbha and South Marathwada will remain dry with partly cloudy sky conditions.
The night temperatures are likely to increase by 1-2 degrees Celcius, while day temperatures are likely to drop by 2-4 degrees, due to clouding and subsequent rainfall.
