Moderate showers ahead for Rajasthan

During last 24 hours, rains have lashed most parts of south and East Rajasthan along with a few isolated showers over Western region.

A Low Pressure area is persisting over the northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan. Axis of Monsoon trough is also seen running through Rajasthan from Bikaner to above side of Low Pressure Area.

This is expected to give moderate rains at many places to continue over South and East Rajasthan along with a few good showers over North Rajasthan during the next 24 – 48 hours.

The given below table details about most of the regions that have received moderate showers in a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday:

At present, East Rajasthan is enjoying a rain surplus by 52 percent which is considered to be one of the best-performing regions in the entire country. On the other hand, West Rajasthan also stands at a rain surplus of 19 percent.

Further, the possibility of on and off rain over the state towards the end of August is expected to improve the rain surplus statistics of the state.
