Devbhoomi or Uttarakhand as they say has been receiving moderate rainfall since last many days. And this moderate rainfall is likely to continue over the state for the next 48 hours. For the Monsoon season starting June 1, 2016 the state has received 989.4 mm of rainfall against the normal rainfall of 1013 mm.
But this rainfall is very much likely to intensify after 2 days. The reason for the increased intensity can be attributed to the shifting of Monsoon trough towards north.
Along with the shifting of Monsoon trough is the presence of a Western Disturbance over North Pakistan. This weather system over North Pakistan is more likely to move in east direction.
These both weather systems are more likely to enhance the activity over the state. The rainfall intensity is likely to be heavy with few extremely heavy spells in between. But as of now only moderate rains is likely to continue over the state.
Another weather system is seen close to Haryana and Delhi as a cyclonic circulation. This weather system is likely to affect the weather activity of lower Uttarakhand and moderate rains are expected over the region with 48 hours.
At present the state is experiencing close to normal rainfall with only 2% on the negative side.
