Mumbai rains to the tune of 27 mm were recorded yesterday between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Since then, Mumbai rains have gone light and only 1 mm of rain was observed over the Santa Cruz Observatory.

In the last 21 hours, there has not been any significant rainfall activity over the dream city. However, the suburbs of Mumbai such as Kalyan, Borivali and the adjoining area managed to receive a few moderate spells of rain within the same time frame.

According to the meteorologists at Skymet, moderate spells of rain would be seen in parts of Mumbai and suburbs today and tomorrow. These moderate showers would be coupled with a few intense short spells of rain, likely during the morning, late afternoon or evening hours. The low-lying areas might have to face water-logging and traffic chaos as a result of these intense showers.

This scenario would change around September 28, wherein Mumbai rains would reduce significantly and the weather would go almost dry with isolated patchy rains.

Once the Monsoon showers take a backseat, the temperatures would start rising again leading to sultry weather conditions.
