In the past 24 hours, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi received very light rains. Earlier the Low-Pressure Area was over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and now it has shifted its base to North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, the Axis of Monsoon Trough is expected to shift North and will extend from Haryana up to Northeast India and cross via Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, we expect now rains to increase over Uttar Pradesh.

The experts are saying that the central and the eastern districts will get moderate showers with isolated heavy spells during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the intensity might take a dip and light to moderate rains may continue until September 15. Most of the western parts of Uttar Pradesh may witness dry weather conditions. However, light and patchy rains cannot be ruled out over West Uttar Pradesh during this period.

However, the chances of rain are very less over the extreme western districts of Uttar Pradesh. We can say that places like Meerut, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Firozabad may see very little rainfall activity.

Also, our experts believe that rain activities will be more over Prayagraj, Chitrakoot Dham, Jaunpur, Rai Bareilly, Amethi, Gorakhpur, Basti, Barabanki, Lucknow, Kanpur, Fatehpur, and Banda.

Amidst this, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Ballia, Deoria may also receive scattered light to moderate rains during the next 24 to 48 hours.
