Minimums to rise slightly over Maharashtra; sunny, comfortable days ahead

Dry weather prevailed over the entire state of Maharashtra, during the last 24 hours. Moreover, with temperatures dropping down significantly over Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra, winter has been setting over these regions at a faster pace as compared to other regions of the state such as Marathwada and coastal areas.

During the last 24 hours, city- wise, minimum temperature at 6.8℃ has been recorded over Aurangabad, which is below normal by 4℃, while at 8.4℃ over Amravati, below normal by 6℃. Santa Cruz observatory recorded minimum temperature at 15.6℃, below normal by 2℃ over the city of dreams- Mumbai.

Meanwhile, in the presence of seasonal pattern, dry and cold winds are blowing over entire state. Moreover, continuously falling temperatures, have resulted in cold wave conditions in pockets of Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra. However, a slight change in wind pattern is expected in the coming days. As a result, a marginal increase in minimums is expected.

Further, this variation in temperatures will be felt more over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions as compared to coastal areas of the state.

Talking about figures, coastal regions will settle its minimums around 17℃ to 21℃ while Madhya Maharashtra between 5℃ and 7℃. The lowest minimums would be recorded over Vidarbha region ranging between 4℃ and 7℃ while minimums varying between 7℃ to 9℃ would be observed over Marathwada region.

Further in the absence of any significant weather system such as Western Disturbance, Cyclonic Circulation or Low pressure area, dry weather will continue over state. Sky will remain mainly clear along with bright sunshine persisting during daytime.
