The city of Kolkata has been witnessing below normal minimums for the past three to four days. So much so that the capital city of West Bengal settling around 11-13 degrees Celsius or so. A day before, Kolkata saw minimum at 11.2 degrees, yesterday it increased to 11.6 degrees, while today the temperature settled at 13.2 degrees, which is still a notch or two below the normal levels.
The drop in temperatures have been attributed to the icy cold northwesterly winds blowing over the region from the Northwest Plains. However, from now on, the temperature trend will be on the increasing side as a couple of Western Disturbances are approaching the Western Himalayas.
In fact, by the time we reach the weekend, these minimum temperatures may end up reaching up to 16 degrees Celsius or so, which will once again be above the normal levels. Rains however, will remain far away from the capital city as no system is in the proximity.
