The state of Madhya Pradesh has seen some extremely low temperatures today, being the coldest of the season. In fact, many cities saw the minimum below the 10-degree mark including Pachmarthi 7.8 degrees, Gwalior 8.6, degrees, Guna 9 degrees, Datia 9 degrees, Nowgong 8 degrees, Umaria 6.5 degrees.
The reason for low minimums is incoming cold air from the north and the localized affect of Vindhyas and Satpura for Madhya Pradesh.
A feeble Western Disturbance will be affecting the Western Himalayas on December 16 and 17. With this, the minimum may not dip any further. However, we can expect a major change after December 21st, wherein a rise in temperatures will be seen.
There is likely to be a change in wind pattern, being easterly with clouds in the northern parts, which will also see some rains. The region of Chambal which includes Gwalior, Guna, Shivapuri, Datia will be more affected by the system and may also see some rain.
