Presently, a Western Disturbance is moving from northwest to the eastern parts of India. Due to this, the northerly winds prevailing over most parts of East India will be replaced by easterly moist and warm winds during the next 48 hours. The minimum temperatures over east Uttar Pradesh up till West Bengal are also likely to rise by 1-4 degree Celsius. Maximum temperatures, however, will see a drop.
The dense fog prevailing over Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh is likely to improve marginally. However, shallow fog and mist is still expected.
The combined effect of Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Uttar Pradesh may bring rain and thundershower activities over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Day temperatures are likely to drop significantly which may lead to Cold Day conditions at a few pockets.
The trio states of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand are likely to observe mainly dry weather conditions for the time to come. Due to light easterly winds, minimum temperatures are expected to rise over the region. Also, the Cold Wave conditions which were prevailing over Bihar and Jharkhand will abate for a while.
