The month of January has been a rainy one for Delhi NCR with the national capital witnessing the second rainiest January in a decade.
In the wake of the Western Disturbance, minimum temperatures in Delhi have dropped by a couple of degrees. Now, northwesterly winds have once again commenced over Delhi and NCR.
Now, pollution levels of Delhi and NCR are in moderate to satisfactory category. It is expected to remain in moderate category for the next two days. Thereafter pollution may increase gradually.
By tomorrow, northwesterly winds will once again pick up pace, leading to a minor drop in minimum temperatures. However, day temperatures will keep rising. While days will become slightly warmer, nights will get colder. Thus, diurnal variation between maximum and minimums will increase for the next few days.
After 48 hours, minimum temperatures of Delhi NCR will come back to double digit. Moreover, these minimums will not come down to single digit from now on as the Western Disturbances which will now approach the Western Himalayas will be feeble in nature. Thus, northwesterly winds blowing over the plains in the wake of the systems will not be as cold. Thus, the drop in minimums will not be very significant.
