Minimum temperatures to drop across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan

North Indian plains have been witnessing temperatures close to the normal levels. In fact, most parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and North Rajasthan have been observing similar weather conditions.

These conditions are attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayas. Moreover, wind patterns had changed resulted in somewhat pleasant conditions over the northern plains.

However, now, the Western Disturbance has moved away eastwards, which is why weather conditions are all set to witness a change. There is also expected to be a changeover in the winds and cold and dry northwesterly winds will start to blow over the entire North India.

Thereafter, since the system has passed, minimum temperatures will take a dip and the residents of North India may witness some chill in the air and wintry conditions across the region. At present, minimum temperatures are settling between 15 and 17 degrees in most parts of North India and are likely to come down by a couple of degrees, settling around 13-14 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, the foothills of the Himalayas including Punjab and Haryana may see a further drop in temperatures, settling between 12 and 13 degrees, giving residents a good enough taste of winter.
