Since last few days day and day and night temperatures of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and many parts of Rajasthan were showing an increasing trend. The reason for increase in temperatures can be attributed to warm and humid winds from Southwest. Western disturbance was moving across Western Himalayas leading to change in window direction.
After the passage of Western Disturbance, winds have changed direction once again and now blowing from northwest. Minimum temperatures of almost entire Northwest India were in double digit. Moderate cold wind from northwest have dropped the temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees across Northwest and Central parts of the country.
Minimums of many districts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have come down in single digit. Minimum of many parts of Delhi and NCR also have come down to single digit. Their maybe marginal drop in day temperature for another 24 hours. We can say the relief from increasing temperatures will be short lived. Thereafter due to the approaching Western disturbance day and night temperatures will once again start increasing.
