Medium intensity Earthquake hits Uttarakhand, Tripura, Meghalaya

Around 10:51 PM last night, a medium intensity Earthquake hit Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand. This is the third such occurrence in less than a week that the district has witnessed.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has said that the magnitude of the Earthquake was 3.2 on the Richter Scale. The depth of the Earthquake was measured at 5 km.

Another Earthquake, around 11:42 PM hit Dhalai region of Tripura. The magnitude of the Earthquake in Tripura measured at 3.5 on the Richter Scale. In both the minor earthquakes, there were no reports of loss of lives or property. Previously, Earthquakes measuring 5.8 and 3.6 had jolted Rudraprayag on February 6 and 7 respectively.

Around 09:35 AM today morning a minor earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale was reported in Meghalaya. The depth of this quake was at 10 km, and the location was 17kms away from Nangstion in Meghalaya.
