The state of Gujarat has seen it all during the month of April. Right from severe heatwave conditions where the mercury levels went up to a whopping 45 degrees to the somewhat cool southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea giving some respite from the prevailing weather conditions.

However, one thing that remained absent from the state was rains. The entire state remained as dry as a bone during the entire month of April. Usually also, the month of April does remain dry for the state now.

At present, the weather conditions have become comparatively better over the state. Winds from the Arabian Sea over the region has resulted in the abatement of heatwave conditions. Maximum temperatures are settling close to the normal levels over the entire state. In fact, a few areas are even recording maximums below the normal levels.

While April will end on a dry note for cities like Rajkot and Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, the month of May is likely to give some good news.

The first week of May will remain dry and hot for Gujarat. However, the second week of May will see rainy weather conditions for the state of Gujarat.

An induced cyclonic circulation will form over Rajasthan and adjoining South Gujarat. This will result in some rainfall activity between May 10 and 15. During this period, patchy rains will be observed over cities including Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat along with a few adjoining areas of Gujarat.
