Maximums to soar further in Delhi, heat wave likely for a week

Delhi has been witnessing sky high maximums for quite some time. Yesterday also, Safdarjung recorded the maximum at 39.3 degrees, which is 5 degrees above normal levels.

Moreover, heat wave has gripped other parts of Delhi including Najafgarh where the maximum has been recorded at 40.9° celsius, Jafarpur 40.3 degrees, Mungeshpur 40.4 degrees, Ayanagar 40.8 degrees, Lodhi Road 40.2 degrees, Ridge 41 degrees, Pitampura 41.7 degrees. All these maximums are 5 to 7 degrees above normal as of now.

Now, severe heat wave is expected over the national capital for at least a week that it until April 12.

The the winds are at present moderate in nature which is taking the pinch of heat from Delhi away. Now, the wind speed is expected to slow down due to a dry Cyclonic Circulation over the region, which will furthermore increase the heat content.

Maximum temperatures in Delhi could even touch 42 degrees, which is about 8 degrees above the normal levels. No other weather is expected to be seen and dry conditions are likely for the coming days, paving way for higher temperatures.
