North Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra witnessed a fall in the day temperatures during the last 24 hours. For instance, the maximum temperatures in Mumbai were settling around 37 to 38°C until February, dropped as March. As of yesterday, the Santa Cruz observatory recorded its day maximum at 31.6°C.

Yesterday, Ratnagiri recorded the maximum at 31.2°C, Nashik 35°C, Kolhapur 35°C and Pune 35.3°C.
According to Skymet Weather, northerly-northeasterly winds have begun to blow over the northern parts of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. These winds are expected to prevail over the regions during the next 24 to 48 hours as well.
Thereafter, a change in wind direction is likely, which will lead to rise in temperatures once again. Thus, the weather will continue to remain warm and dry over cities of Thane, Ratnagiri, Sholapur, Pune and Nashik.
Weathermen do not expect much change in the temperature profile over southern parts of Konkan as well as Madhya Maharashtra.

Farmers of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra are recommended to complete harvesting of Rabi crops. Also, they should irrigate summer Groundnut and Paddy crop and continue harvesting Pomegranate and Grapes.
