Maximum Temperature in Delhi Reaches a New HighDelhiites have been enjoying pleasant weather since the past one week. The temperature in Delhi has touched a new high today. Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 30.6°C. On March 1, the national capital had recorded the lowest maximum temperature of the month at 19°C. Only 20 days later, the temperature soared to over 30°C.

Many areas in Delhi including Palam, Safdarjung and Gurgaon recorded the maximum temperature above 30°C. The maximum temperature in Palam soared to 31.2°C. Gurgaon was also not left far behind where the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.8°C.

Since the last five days, the city witnessed no rain resulting in an increase in the maximum temperature. On March 15, after a wet spell, the city had witnessed another low with the maximum temperature recorded at 19.6°C, which is around 8 to 9 degrees below normal.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division, the maximum temperature in Delhi will experience a rising trend. On Sunday, the maximum is expected to rise to 31°C. By Monday the temperature is expected to rise to 32°C.

This is the first time after the winter season that the city has observed such high temperature. Although the temperature is only 1 degree above normal but one can feel the heat under the bright sun. The maximum is expected to rise even further.
