Maximum in Delhi drops to 31.4 degrees, pleasant days ahead

Delhi weather which was hot and sweltry until a few days ago has witnessed a significant change in the past two days. However, the maximum temperature continued to settle in the high 30s. Yesterday also, the Safdarjung observatory recorded its day temperature at 36.3 degrees Celsius. Palam observatory also recorded temperature and the maximum settled at 37.8 degrees Celsius.

However, weather conditions improved and temperatures witnessed a drop over the region. In fact, Delhi and the NCR region witnessed rain and thundershowers in the morning, courtesy of which day temperatures in Delhi witnessed a drop today.

Thus, today the maximum at Palam dropped to a mere 31.8 degrees Celsius. Conditions at the Safdarjung observatory was even better at 31.4 degrees Celsius.

Usually, during the month of April, the average maximum between April 1 and 9 is around 35-36 degrees. In fact, April recorded the maximum above 35 degrees during all these days. This is the first time in April, that below normal of 5 degrees has been witnessed.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, Delhi and the NCR region is expected to continue observing dust storm, thunderstorm and rain activities for at least until April 12. Thus, there is a possibility that the maximum temperature may even drop further and weather will remain pleasant over the national capital.
