A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 on Richter scale hits Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan at around 12.40 PM. The depth of the quake has reported to be 191.2 km with epicenter 35 kilometres south of Jarm, Afghanistan at Latitude 36.5°N and Longitude 70.98°E.
Strong tremors were observed in Kabul, Afghanistan as well as the Lahore region of Pakistan along with eastern parts of Uzbekistan. Mild tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram along with parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana as well as Punjab.

The twin capital Chandigarh also felt the quake. These tremors were felt for about a minute in many areas.
Residents and office goers in Delhi and the NCR region stepped out of their houses. In fact, the lifeline of public commute, i.e. Delhi metro also stopped after tremors were felt across the national capital.
Injuries and a casualty has been reported in Pakistan. As per reports, in Bela town of Lasbela, the roof of a house collapsed due to which a girl was killed and nine have also been injured. Strong tremors have been felt in various towns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan as well as Islamabad.
