Massive Earthquake jolts Afghanistan, strong tremors felt in North IndiaA powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on Richter scale has rocked Afghanistan.

The epicenter was reported in the Hindukush region in Afghanistan, 248 km North of Peshawar. The depth of the earthquake has been reported to be about 210 km.

Strong tremors were also felt in entire North India including Delhi-NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Strong tremors were also felt in Pakistan in areas including Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, and Muzaffarabad.

As per the data from European Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicentre of the quake has been felt across an area of 200 km. The earthquake struck at around 3:58 pm and continued for at least five minutes.

Buildings were seen shaking in several areas of Delhi and the NCR region. People fled from movie halls and malls. Metro services were also put to halt for some time.

As per recent reports, no damage has been reported yet.
